An exhibition by Craft ACT in the Hotel Hotel Cabinets.
There are two definitions of the word ‘curious’. The first refers to the strange and the unusual. The second refers to those who are ‘eager to know or learn something’. Unlike most curious cabinets (otherwise known as wunderkammern) this exhibition draws on the latter definition.
A collection of objects made by six Craft ACT artists united in their drive to develop their craft and their eagerness to know something new.
Their works are divided by materiality but bound by form and texture.
Works by Jo Victoria, Andres Caycedo, Zoe Slee, Wayne Simon, Jonathan Baskett, Richilde Flavell and designers Greybox.
Presented by Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre.
When:Friday 28 July to Friday 11 August
Where:Hotel Hotel Cabinets

NewActon. One word, one fine place to live, work and just be. We took the rulebook, looked up classic principles of excellence in architecture and urban design, ripped out the pages that prescribe same-same and characterless, and added a chapter entitled, “How to create a truly innovative cultural precinct that shifts the status quo, and be awarded multiple times for doing so.” And then we scribbled our name on the title page in crayon.
