: Best event you’ve ever been to?

Michael Liu: Geez, that’s a tough one to ask an events manager! Dragon Dreaming Festival would have to be up there. Great music, company, and vibes.

: If you could perform with any band or musician, who would it be?

ML: It would have to be the Bee Gees, or Billy Joel. For me, they’re the epitome of consummate performers.

: Favourite arts festival in the world?

ML: I haven’t been to that many! Is it biased if I say Art, Not Apart? It’s such a great day in Canberra and brings artists from all colours and creeds together.

: If you could choose any three people in the world to co-host a party with, who would they be?

ML: Andrew Lloyd Webber, Andy Warhol, and Dave Caffery (of course).

: Favourite album of all time?

ML: As a complete album, probably Woodface by Crowded House.

: Favourite cocktail?

ML: Love a dirty martini. Otherwise scotch and coke will suit me just fine.

: Who (living or dead) is you favourite violinist?

ML: Nigel Kennedy. Just an absolute bad-ass iconoclast.

: Best costume you ever wore to a dress up?

ML: I’ve worn a lot of costumes but I don’t know if they’re ever any good! I just dressed up as Aladdin to DJ a Disney-themed wedding - does that count?

: Any hidden talents?

ML: I’m amazing at training puppies to be super disobedient. I also know every word to the musical Les Mis. Go figure.

: What song automatically gets you on the dance floor?

ML: Anything from So Fresh 1999 to 2004, or a good disco classic like Boogie Wonderland.
